Sunday 28 August 2011
Three cannon will be installed in the Nash room, at the ICA, on Sunday the 28th. Pointing out of the windows, taking aim at general worldly matter, each gun will be fired three times making for a nine-fold salute in honour of gravity. The cannonballs will land in nine flowerbeds within St James's Park.
Let's not dispute the useless. This is about the relationship between war and comfort, and I know very well on what side you will find me a young voice screams.
But surely, it's about not falling into the trap of ignorance.
Men fall every day, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
What's that supposed to mean?
Clearing way for tomorrow's thoughts.
A group of people gather around a man of mixed features. He is speaking in a soft tone about things of general interest. Now and then he raises his voice, but only slightly, emphasising what he thinks important.
On a more practical note, the cannon will be returned to the Imperial War Museum in the early evening of Sunday the 28th, where they will be reinstated, for permanent display.
Am Nuden Da invites you for drinks on Sunday the 28th August 2011 from 5-6pm in the Nash room at the ICA, London.
